Research

AUO is committed to building research excellence through developing joint research programmes and projects with reputable UK universities. Through a number of partnership programmes, many of our graduate students and faculty members are currently conducting research in various fields including engineering, physics, chemistry, law, accountancy, business management and TESOL, while nurturing our emerging strengths.

The University is planning to enhance its research profile from 2015 academic year through two significant initiatives namely Joint Research Projects (JRP) and Collaborative PhD Programmes (CPP).

JRP: To improve its global research position, the University is going to introduce a diverse range of funding opportunities to support the training and career development of our researchers and academics and foster international collaborations. We invite UK universities and research centres to join forces in this initiative. If you are interested in knowing more about the possibilities and research collaboration, please contact us on 01865-884350 or send an email to research@auo.org.uk
CPP: AUO has a long-standing experience in offering collaborative PhD programmes to its graduates. Since 2008 and through collaborative programmes with seven UK partner universities, a large group of our students have participated in our split-site PhD programmes and received their degrees from reputable UK universities. We intend to further develop this imitative from 2015 by sponsoring 100 students a year and therefore in the process of identifying and negotiating the particulars of the programmes with the partner universities. If your university is interested in our collaborative PhD programme, please contact us 01865-884350 or send an email to research@auo.org.uk

Cell Plus College

Three days summer school program named CellPLus College supported by council for the development of stem cell sciences and technologies in collaboration with Erasmus MC, Azad University (IR) in Oxford, Terasaki, Victoria and Michigan Universities as well as all the centres of excellence in Iran (TUMS, Royan, Tarbiat Modares, Yazd, Shiraz, Mashhad, Kerman, Iran and Tabriz medical Universities) will be held virtually due to the pandemic situation.
Regenerative medicine is an interdisciplinary field involving cell therapy, tissue engineering, and gene therapy and focuses on replacing, repairing, and/or regenerating cells, tissues, and organs. Over the past few decades, the primary choice for treating patients suffering from different degenerative diseases was organ transplantation. However, various problems, such as shortage of donated organs, immune rejection, and the need for immunosuppressive therapy, were associated with organ transplantation. In contrast, regenerative medicine uses a combination of biological techniques, such as gene therapy, cell therapy [such as stem cells], allo-or autotransplantation, tissue engineering, and/or molecular medicine, instead of replacing the whole organ. More recently, using new technologies such as organ and patient on a chip, iPS, immune cell and gene therapy, 3d Bio-printing, and autophagy enable scientists and researchers to expand this field with various methods more precisely.
The event will introduce the most interesting cutting-edge knowledge & new methods in stem cell and regenerative medicine from 10 to 12 July 2021). In addition, this program provides communication opportunities for different scientists worldwide, sharing the latest update and design detailed and new studies.
