
Centre for Iranian Studies
The Centre for Iranian Studies is a research and educational institution dedicated to studying Iran/Persia. The centre offers a range of academic programmes and resources focusing on the language and literature, history, art and architecture of Iran/Persia.
Our language and literature program includes courses in the history and development of the Persian language and literature in translation and creative writing workshops. Our history program covers various topics, including Iran’s political, social and cultural developments from ancient times to today. In addition, the Art and Architecture program offers courses on the history and theory of Iran/Persia’s visual and performing arts and the study of its architectural heritage.
This centre is home to a diverse community of scholars and students from around the world who all share a common interest in rich Iranian cultural traditions. We host lectures, conferences and other events with guest speakers and famous panellists.
Our researchers and library have a comprehensive collection of materials related to the Iranian language, literature, history, art and architecture.
We welcome all interested in learning more about Iran to join us at the Center for Iranian Studies in Oxford.
